Nel GP d’Italia di Imola Amandine Verstappen festeggia! Peccato per Stephen Rubini e Yuri Quarti che si infortunano.

Ultimo GP della stagione 2018 per il Team KTM Silver Action, sceso a Imola nel circuito Enzo e Dino Ferrari con Stephen Rubini e Yuri Quarti nella MX2 e con Amandine Verstappen nel mondiale WMX. Nella giornata di sabato, oltre alla gara di qualifica che ha visto Rubini chiudere 15° e Quarti con un ritiro per problemi tecnici, si è corsa anche gara uno del mondiale WMX dove Amandine a centrato una buona quarta piazza alle spalle del trio Papenmaier – Fontanesi – Van De Ven che ha vinto la gara.

Domenica è la giornata delle due manche della MX2 ma prima viene disputata gara due delle ragazze. Amandine si conferma fra le prime del Mondiale. Parte quarta e sembra tenere bena la posizione me a metà gara subisce il ritorno della Andersen che la passa e si prende la posizione ai danni di Amandine. La quinta posizione finale permette alla Verstappen di chiudere quarta di giornata e sesta nella generale a soli quattro punti dal quarto posto.

Per quanto riguarda invece i due ragazzi della MX2, le cose sono andate bene in gara uno ma decisamente male nella frazione finale. L’undicesima posizione conquistata da Stephen Rubini nella prima manche, ha fatto ben sperare. Così come è stata incoraggiante la 26ª piazza di Yuri Quarti che, ricordiamo, era alla sua prima esperienza Mondiale.

Purtroppo gara due ha avuto uno svolgimento drammatico per entrambi i piloti, caduti praticamente nella stessa zona. Rubini si è nuovamente infortunato alla caviglia, non ci sono fratture ma la sua stagione è praticamente terminata. Così come è terminata, in modo molto cruento, quella di Quarti. Caduto al termine di un doppio appena dopo la Pit Lane, Yuri ha subito microfratture al bacino, un versamento polmonare e lo schiacciamento di alcune costole. In queste condizioni, il dottore del centro medico dell’autodromo ha consigliato il trasporto in elicottero di Yuri nella vicina Bologna. Il bollettino non è dei più tranquilli ma Quarti non è in grave pericolo. Per ora qualsiasi intervento chirurgico è scongiurato ma è ovvio che almeno una ventina di giorni di immobilità serviranno tutti.

Tutto lo staff del Team KTM Silver Action augura a Yuri una pronta guarigione e siamo certi che lo vedremo alla festa di fine anno.

At Imola Amandine Verstappen celebrated! What a pity for Stephen Rubini and Yuri Quarti, who suffered injuries.

Last GP of the 2018 season for Team Silver Action, which went to Imola at Enzo and Dino Ferrari’s circuit with Stephen Rubini and Yuri Quarti for the MX2 and Amandine Verstappen for the Women World Championship. On Saturday, other than Qualifying Race for the boys (where Rubini finished 15^th and Quarti had to retire due to technical issues), there was also Race 1 of the Women World Championship, and Amandine finished 4^th after the trio Papenmaier, Fontanesi and Van De Ven (who won the race).

Sunday was the MX2 racing day but there was women’s Race 2 before that.

Amandine confirmed herself with the Top riders of the World Championship. She started in 4^th place and she seemed to be able to keep the position, but around half of the race Amandine suffered Andersen’s comeback and she lost a place. The final 5^th position allowed Verstappen to finish 4^th of the day and 6^th in the General Classification, with only four points of gap from the 4^th place.

About the MX2 boys, things went quite well in Race 1 while Race 2 went surely bad. Stephen Rubini’s 11^th place in Race 1 looked like a good sign, as it was the 26^th place of Yuri Quarti, who was competing in the World Championship for the first time.

Unluckily, Race 2 went bad for both riders, as they actually crashed in the same area of the circuit. Rubini injured his ankle once again. There are no fractures but his season has basically finished. Quarti’s season has finished too, and more unkindly. He crashed at the end of a double jump, just after the Pit Lane, and he suffered micro fractures at his hip bone and a mashed rib. In those conditions, the doctor suggested the transport via helicopter to the nearest hospital at Bologna. At the moment there are no surgeries programmed but surely he will have to spend at least twenty days in immobility.

Everybody from Team Silver Action KTM is wishing him a fast healing and we are sure we will see  him in better shape at the end of the year’s party.
