L’ AT&T Stadium di Arlington, in Texas, ospita questo fine settimana il sesto round del Campionato AMA Monster Energy Supercross 2017.
Nella classe 450SX, il leader in classifica generale è ancora Ryan Dungey (Red Bull KTM Factory) ma il suo diretto inseguitore, Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Kawasaki), arriva in Texas con alle spalle due vittorie consecutive che lo candidano ufficialmente a pretendente al titolo in questa stagione. Terzo in classifica il francese Marvin Musquin (Red Bull KTM Farctory), che dopo un inizio di stagione promettente con due terzi posti e un secondo posto, nelle ultime due gare è sembrato un pò in difficoltà, ottenendo due noni posti.
Quarto il secondo pilota ufficiale Honda HRC Cole Seely, ad un solo punto dal francese e quinto Davi Millsaps, protagonista di un avvio di stagione perfetto in sella alla sua KTM del Team Rocky Mountain ATV/MC – KTM – WPS. In soli tre punti, ritroviamo sesto Jason Anderson (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) ancora in cerca di un risultato importante in questa stagione, seguito duo ufficiale Yamaha con un ritrovato Cooper Webb, terzo nel Main Event di Oakland, e il veterano Chad Reed. Dean Wilson, recente acquisto del Team Rockstar Energy Suzuki, chiude la Top Ten alle spalle di Ken Roczen (Honda HRC), oramai in caduta libera in classifica generale dopo il ritiro dalla stagione agonistica a causa del grave infortunio rimediato nella prova di Anaheim 2.
Tra gli assenti per infortunio, oltre a Ken Roczen, i due piloti del Team JGRMX Suzuki Justin Barcia e Weston Peick, Tommy Hahn, Fredrick Noren e Josh Grant, infortunatosi al pollice nella gara di Oakland. Rientra invece il pilota del team Red Bull KTM Factory Trey Canard, guarito dall’infortunio alla spalla rimediato nella prima gara stagionale.
Classifica Main Event 450SX Oakland
La classe 250SX costa Ovest disputerà la sua ultima prova in Texas prima del consueto stop stagionale, per lasciare spazio ai piloti della classe 250SX costa Est. Rivedremo in pista i piloti della costa Ovest l’8 di Aprile, in occasione della prova di Seattle.
Con tre vittorie consecutive nelle ultime tre prove disputate, il pilota PC Monster Energy Kawasaki Justin Hill ha strappato la tabella rossa di Leader dalla KTM del Team TLD Red Bull guidata da Shane McElrath che al momento siede in seconda posizione distaccato di un solo punto e sicuramente, farà di tutto per ritornare sul gradino più alto del podio. A poco meno di venti punti, in terza posizione ritroviamo il pilota Star Racing Yamaha Aaron Plessinger, seguito da Martin Davalos (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna) e Jimmy Decotis (GEICO Honda). Austin Forkner (PC Monster Energy Kawasaki) scende in sesta posizione dopo il ritiro nella prova di Oakland.
Tra le file degli infortunati, si va ad aggiungere anche il pilota JGRMX Suzuki Phil Nicoletti, infortunatosi in allenamento a caviglia e tallone. Rientra invece il pilota del team GEICO Honda Jeremy Martin, dopo il forte trauma alla testa rimediato nella prova di Phoenix. Per lui una stagione del SX davvero difficile con tanti errori e cadute.
Classifica Main Event 250SX Oakland
Sette le ore di differenza con il Texas. Le Prove di Qualifica inizieranno alle 16:00 (ora italiana) e saranno trasmesse in Diretta Streaming e visibili gratuitamente. La prima Heat della classe 250SX partirà alle ore 23:05. Gli orari dei Main Event sono i seguenti: per la classe 250SX ore 01:01 per la classe 450SX ore 01:30.
