DUTCH GP 2017: ON TT CIRCUIT OF ASSEN VERY GOOD TANEL LEOK AND TEAM HSF
TT Circuit of Assen, which is famous for its motorsport challenges, hosted for the third time MXGP World Championship.
The surface was difficult to ride on and because of all the rain that fell in the previous days, it was very heavy and muddy too. Sunday was way better even though it was still insidious.
Team HSF Logistic KTM, which deploys three dutch riders, was at its “home race”, and the results were really good. The best of the three was Calvin Vlaanderen, who finished in the Overall standings in 4th place, after that he disputed two excellent races. In Race 1 he finished 4th (but he begun around the tenth place). In Race 2, at the start, he was 3rd and just behind Prado, but when he tried to overtake, he fell off his bike and he went back to the 6th place. Despite of that he did not give up so easily, and at the end of the race he was once again 4th.
Very good Brian Bogers too, who finished 6th in the Overall after the 5th place in Race 1 and the 7th in Race 2. Davy Pootjes, for only 3 points, just touched the TOP TEN of the Overall. Although his arms hardened a little during Race 1, he clenched his teeth and he finished 12th. In Race 2 he finished 9th after that he moved up from the 17th position.
TOP TEN for Tanel Leok too in the MXGP. He is 36 years old but he still amaze us. On this kind of surface, which was really difficult, Leok finished 8th in the Overall, after that he finished 9th in both races. His teammate Rui Goncalves was always around the 15th place and he finished 16th in the Overall.
Bad luck for Giuseppe Tropepe, who slipped at the end of the main straight and got hit by Jacobi who was just behind him. During the crash, Giuseppe suffered some pain at his back and a wound that necessitated of some stitches.
The next appointment of the World Championship will take place at Villars sous Ecot (France) on the 16th and the 17th of September.
